Maybe I’m missing something here, but I can’t find a way to enable horizontal scrolling with the V touchpad. There isn’t a setting for it (only vertical scroll). I searched online for solutions and they all are dependent on having the drivers of the specific touchpad installed. However, in Device Manager the touchpad just shows up as “HID-compliant mouse” and the driver is by Windows.
Do we know the manufacturer of the touchpad and if so, how to install its specific driver to be able to have horizontal scrolling? Thanks.
I can’t provide a solution, but I am wondering what Windows version you are currently on. I’m on 1903 and for me horizontal scrolling is working properly (two fingers to the left or right). But I didn’t find any settings regarding horizontal scrolling and in device manager the touchpad is called HID-compliant mouse as well. So, I believe this is normal. If you haven’t done yet, you could try to update the driver via device manager.
I don’t remember, if there was horizontal scrolling in previous Windows builds, but maybe a Windows update could help. As far as I know, it is a Windows precision touchpad and thus, I believe there are no external drivers you could install.
Hi, I’m running 1903 with everything currently up to date. I did just notice that horizontal scrolling works in some apps but not others, particularly Adobe Acrobat which drives me crazy.
Anyway, thanks for letting me know that there are no additional drivers needed for the touchpad!
That isn’t a V problem, that’s an app problem - Adobe isn’t properly supporting Windows 10 Precision Trackpad drivers (this is the standard Microsoft started a few years back to compete with Apple’s trackpads) with Acrobat.
Is this also an issue in Lightroom CC? My horizontal touch pad scrolling isn’t working there. Is there any fix or workaround for this? FInd an older version of lightroom? Change the drivers somehow?
