Switching DP and HDMI

Hi Guys,

before i had a Benq monitor and a Acer monitor and when i switch the source of my benq to my PS5 my pc automatically made my 2nd screen my main, but now i have this monitor it doesnt work it always keeps my Spectrum as main, is there a solution for this?

Hi @BloodShedStyX,

Have you tried unplugging your Spectrum and once it switches source to an alternative monitor as main, plug the Spectrum back in.

I’ve had a similar issue but I had to disconnect my monitor to make the alternative monitor, my main monitor.

You can also go in the display settings on your Windows PC and select your alternative monitor as the main.

Windows will return to the last known arrangement of those specific displays every time they are plugged in the same way. When you swap out a monitor, Windows thinks you have a completely new display arrangement and will treat the new screen as your secondary until you say otherwise.

To make the change permanent, we just need @MarvyMarvz’s last step.

In Windows 10:

  1. Plug in both monitors in the way you normally would.
  2. Open Settings, go to: System β†’ Display
  3. At the top, select the display you want to be your primary display. (Hit β€˜Identify’ if you’re uncertain)
  4. Scroll down to the β€˜Multiple displays’ section and select the β€˜Make this my main display’ option.

hi, thnx for your reply.
what i want tbh is that the eve cuts off the connection from the DP when i switch the source so my pc doesnt recognize it anymore as a connected source
