Is this the actual product, or just for an example? I’m trying to find the similarities to the CAD drawing, but I don’t see any. Or has the final design changed?
I think that must be the hump at the back of the monitor that houses the electronics and connector ports, but without the color coating. Might be a test unit to see if all fits ok, and if heat disipatioin is enought, or some component touches to ground, among other things.
I assume it’s the hump also, but way too big compared to their CAD drawings.
Looks sorta big until you really look at it; unless those hands are gigantic I don’t think it’s particularly oversized compared to what we’ve seen from the drawings and concepts.
Is this a teaser? We are getting an update today? I am very excited
And the Major Spectrum Update is… an animated GIF of chassis assembly?
Any word-based updates?
Looks to me like a teaser of a bigger update next week
If the announcement is that the monitor is now white, like that gif, I’ll take your whole stock
I agree with @legendary_pato. I know it’s really late in the process for this, but if the monitor were white I would buy one on the spot.
Excited for next week’s post.
i bet they are announcing release dates.
It would surprise me, if they suddenly change their colour scheme. Looks to me like the aluminium (or whatever metallic material) case of the electronics in the back hump of spectrum. It’s just not coated as @Neti suspected or doesn’t have a plastic housing around it or whatever is planned. A new colour is just too big of a price increase, I’d say.
And ~2.5 hands wide isn’t really large imo. And we don’t even know about the person. Might be someone with Trump’s hands
My eyes are ready. Show us that being attached to the panel please.
How about rereading the title? Major Spectrum […] Get ready!
We’re not changing the color scheme, but you’ll be able to buy skins to customize Spectrum.
So it’s an announcement announcement. That’s so meta.
So much tease!
This is a bit thick…
Having just taken apart one of my broken monitors, it looks like that is just the internal housing which ends up being screwed to the panel itself. The entire unit is then housed in a plastic cover that should look more like the designs.
Edit: the panel is laying down in the back too. That said the ‘hump’ does seems a little bigger than the original design but on par with current offerings from other brands.
What is the odd metal piece attached to the screw driver?
Hi, @Rypht! Welcome to our community! If you referred to the blue part, it is the printed circuit board (PCB).
