Projecting to this PC feature missing in Windows 10

I have Windows 10 Pro on my V and Windows 10 Enterprise on my work laptop. The build numbers are 1709 (Build 1709 16299.248) on the V and 1709 (Build 16299.192) on my work machine.

The work machine has the “Home → System → Projecting to this PC” setting in the settings app and its missing on my V. Can anyone else compare?

I ran the following command to check the driver capabilities
C:\Users\olire>netsh wlan show drivers

The last line indicates that support should be present for this feature.

Anyone have any ideas? If the feature is disabled by group policy or registry, I understand the menu entry remains present but the page gets greyed out. I simply don’t have the entry in Settings.

I am missing this setting too. I have just compared with my Surface Pro 2 and there I have the setting.
(same OS version)
The reg key to disable the setting is not present.

Same here no option… but it shows the network driver supports it…

Any update on this??

I can’t speak to build 1709 as i have 17133 installed currently, but i did a clean install from ISO on the V and all features and functions seem to be there now, including this one. If you don’t mind wiping and starting over it might not hurt to try.

I have the “projecting to this PC” settings on my V. I’m using the latest video and network drivers on Win 10 Pro build 16299.371. I’ve never tried the feature, though.

To my memory, the ‘project to’ and miracast functionalities disappear if the wifi driver errs.

Going into device manager to uninstall and delete the old driver before replacing it with the most up-to-date driver fixes the problem (or at least it did for me a few months ago).
