More boxes arrived at my door, so it’s time for another video! This time we’re taking a deeper look under the hood, and see the new firmware update process in action. As always, I hope you all like it!
Be sure to let us know what you think, and feel free to ask questions!
It would be awesome to get a firmware update tool for Linux too, in addition to Windows and macOS.
Also, how would the tool behave if there are more than one Spectrum plugged in ?
Thanks Rob (@Helios), for taking the time to create another one of your wonderful demonstrations.
Another great insight into the Spectrum’s development progress.
Hi there,
I have 2 spectrum pre-orders, and am eager to know; how would one connect two spectrum’s to one macbook pro?
Could that be a one cable (USB type-c with PD) solution with spectrum to spectrum loopthrough (using some displayport loopthrough standard i’ve seen on dell monitors).
Or could it be two usb type c cables, one for each monitor, would that work properly with the power delivery protocol?
Or would the option be one usb type c with one usb c - hdmi/DP cable
Looks good. Will there be any api or program to control the Spectrum via the upstream USB port (ie, choose input, set volume, turn on/off, etc). That would be very useful and unique vs other monitors.
Looks amazing. Getting genuinely excited now after losing a little faith after the last delay.
Two home pod minis are a punchy and slightly odd set up, any more details on the why?
It will apparently support DDC/CI which would allow the Spectrum to be controlled in that way by third party software over the HDMI, DP, or USB C connections.
We got told we would get an introduction/teaser to the payment workflow on the 13th, now that the date has passed is there going to be another delay on the 20th?
I’m not sure if this has been said already, but will we be getting an email or will there be a certain page we have to go to, to make the payments when they go live?
