My Eve has been disassembled and disjointed now.

EVE V use Lenovo Japan’s batteries. . .
Cost reduction & replacement parts are easy to find, so it’s good.

Disassembly of body is easy than surface.
It is impossible unless the keyboard is broken. Adhesive around, full of adhesive tapes inside.But batteries are very good to be protected.

I began repairing the keyboard.
I am troubled with the fixed position of the wire.Maybe I’ll extend the strand wire to the connector
But it took time to disassemble the keyboard, so today is the end. see you next week.

Update 11-12-2018

Repair continuation

First, disconnect the broken cable.
I will use a flat LAN cable instead.However, it was hard to bend, so I only used the inside cable.

If I connect the cable here, the repair is over.But, it seemed to be broken soon, so I decided to make the cable longer and connect it on the back side of the keyboard.

Creating a flat cable
Cut the copper tape and match it with the pitch of the original cable.
I am not good at soldering.So I increased the pitch on the opposite side.
→ Temporary wiring also becomes easy

The key which can not be used if it is fell off and the key which can not used are the same.

Here is the method of decomposing PRO6, so for reference

I basically warm up and pulled off with a sucker. Very slow.
Ifixit uses picks, but I used packing tape(PP BAND).
The surface may cut the film antenna, but EVE is easy because there are no parts around.Also I used an industrial hotplate to warm up.

It is impossible for the keyboard to plastic pick , slowly apply force with a thin metal plate.
The keyboard uses adhesive, so the inside breaks.

Yeah. I can confirm that the wire in the keyboard can break easily.

The flat cable used for the keyboard can be cut immediately.

EVE tech seems to have thought only about using it carefully.
Was EVE tech unexpected?I throw EVE V into bag and run around.

Thank you for waiting and looking forward to it.
I just assemble my keyboard.
It looks bad, but it can not be helped.
I have not assembled yet .because I worked without fixing EVE at that time I cut off the LCD flexible cable. orz

I am arranging parts now.
It is suspended until parts come.

It is very tiring to assemble the keys, so I’m not motivated if there is no promise to recover absolutely.
Sorry for betraying expectations.

In the past work, I was cut off the flexible cable of the LCD panel of the under development of a major manufacturer,but at that time the makers’ engineer quickly connected cable into one.

I received the LCD module I ordered, but it was broken by customs officials.

I am trying to repair my keyboard, but I had not so much experience and also no the correct tools to do that. Do you think it will be possible to weld the flex cable from keyboard??
If yes, how could I do that?

Hi Letisgo
It is easy to reconnect the disconnected flexible cable.
You can do it if you are practicing a bit with this thickness.
Search for “flexible flat cable repair”
However, since the place where the cable runs is where the force is applied, it probably will be disconnect soon.
When applying solder, it becomes strong if a thin wire (stranded wire) is put.
I decided to replace it with a vinyl coated wire for further strengthening.

Because my ability was not able to make a strong flexible flat cable.The durability of moving parts is important.
