Because the Display Port on Model 2 & 3 cannot serve as a video output for daisy-chaining, they cannot be used as the chain’s starting point. (They can only receive video signals.)
Then I’m confused, what’s the single cable scenario? Only for model 1?
For single cable daisy-chaining + driving all USB ports + charging, it is only available for Model 1;
For single cable receiving a video signal + driving all USB ports + charging, it is also available for Model 2 & 3.
Why do people think that single cable means a series of single cables? That’s multiple cables. Single cable is a different thing than daisy chaining. The Model 1 can do both, which is nice, but single cable means that you can do display AND power over USB-C. It’s really not difficult.
Lol. agree. I take “single-cable” as one cable coming from the Computer to a monitor. If we need to connect a 2nd monitor, then we go from monitor 1 to monitor 2. So, I guess single cable from the computer leads to the daisy chaining capability.
