So the other day (when I was about to have a zoom-meeting) I noticed that I didn’t have my camera set up. Of course I headed over to the support site to find the drivers but to my suprise I can’t seem to download them anymore?
Are you removing the drives because of the new Eve computer that’s coming up or is it simply a bug?
Thanks!
PS. Message that pops up when I try to download is shown on picture.
Agreed simple fix. From my research the files were stored a server that is no longer accessible. I’m assuming this was a server that was controlled by FORTRESS.
To fix they would have to locate someone with the drivers, upload to a server and update the links. I’m assuming the issue is locating the drivers to upload. I spent hours searching the internet for these drivers.
I even looked at some archived websites for Eve, but unfortunately was unable to locate any active links for the drivers.
I didn’t notice this before but the error message @OscardB received looks very, very like an Amazon S3 message that is issued when the permissions on the file or bucket you’re trying to access are wrong (not public).
Hey @OscardB,
I was doing some thinking about drivers earlier, and I remember a few years ago I was struggling to find drivers for a laptop repair I was doing. At the time I stumbled across Driver pack solution. While my preference is always to download from manufacturers websites. I have used this in the past successfully with no issues.
Just make sure you click expert mode, and just download, and install the drivers you require. On the software tab: Remove all the bloat. I have used this to install avast on a fresh install; also with no problems.
I don’t know if it will be able to find the drivers for you, but it could be worth a shot.
Edit: Drivers are now available on Eve’s website. I would recommend using these!
Well, some time ago when I reinstalled Windows on my Eve, I tried using Driver Booster to install all the missing drivers and that just messed up my computer completely.
I guess doing as you said, choosing which drivers are actually necessary, could be a good idea. But I kinda feel like the files should be available here.
I’ve never heard of “Driver booster”, but I do know in the past this type of software was a must avoid. Most were often riddled with malware, and viruses. In many cases this is still the case, and why I would personally prefer to download drivers from manufacturers website if available.
I have personally used this Driver Pack Solution a few times before with no issues. They are even partnered with Avast!
They have a counter on the website, and it as been used to downloaded drivers over 49 million times. I completely agree the drivers should be available, but in the mean time it could be worth a shot. This is a legitimate driver installer; just make sure to run in expert mode, and deselect all the bloat!
Edit: Drivers are now available on Eve’s website. I would recommend using these!
