Hey fellow tech enthusiastās (AKA Eve Community!),
So I was thinking earlier: The Spectrum, and the Eve mouse pad look sleek AF, and there have been some really good reviews in for the mouse pad. (I speculate amazing Spectrum reviews to follow.)
I would like to ask you all a few questions:
What would you think to an Eve mouse?
What connector would you like your mouse to have? (Retro PS2, Typical USB-A, Modern Wireless dongle/bluetooth, or something a little uncommon when it comes to mice; like USB-C)
What would you look for in a mouse?
How many buttons should a mouse have?
How responsive do you like your mouse?
Do you like macro features for your mouse?
What are must have features for your mouse?
What are some cool features you would like in your mouse?
Should multiple skins be available for an Eve mouse?
Should it glow? (Fancy LEDs)
Should the mouse squeak ? (Joke question, but I remember back several years ago having a ball mouse that literally squeaked!)
How awesome does a complete Eve AIO desktop package sound? (Containing: Spectrum, Mouse pad, Quantum (Mini PC), Mouse, Keyboard, and Sound system.)
This could be a package Eve could offer in the future for people looking for a complete desktop solution.
To anyone that owns a mouse pad. How could we improve on the design, and are there anythings you would change?
This is not an official thread. I just wanted to get some creative juices flowing within the community with some base ideas of my own.
Our community member @Bexin, as pointed out his mouse concept he made a while back. Amazing concept, and some great models made; using Blender!
wireless via 2.4Ghz wireless dongle and usb-c for charging.
A good shape is key, imo the ergo oem shape is perfect. (Thats the shape of the zowie ec2 and got copied by a lot of others like the pwnage custom ultra)
The mouse should also be low-weight, without a honeycomb shell and have decent battery life. That this is possible has been shown by the g pro x superlight.
Whats also important is to have large and high quality mouse-skatez.
Ergo mouse: normal top buttons and customizable dpi toggle, and 2 sidebuttons
Ambi mouse: the same, but 4 sidebuttons in total.
1ms latency via wireless and customizable button debounce times to be able to minimize input lag. 1000hz polling rate is a must, but honestly even experimental 2k/4k hz via wireless would be appreciated.
Honestly, itās more important to get the basics right and Iād like a focus on the things I mentioned earlier. Even for the software side, it should be sufficient to have controls to change polling rate, dpi, debounce time and remap buttons.
For the design Iād like it all black with a white/red eve logo or all white with a black eve logo. Please use plastic and no rubber, since a lot of rubber mice have issues with longevity.
If you guys want to be really fancy, you could put a QI charging coil inside the mouse.
That would honestly be appreciated, but should not be a focus.
Hey, as long as it can be done, not a bad idea at all.
I think an Eve mouse would be a perfect complement to the mousepad (or, rather, the already existing mousepad would be a perfect complement to the future mouse).
Connector: USB-C for use / charging the battery (if there is a battery). Would be nice to see a device that could be used both off battery to eliminate wires, but for the hardcore gamer where every nanosecond counts, it can also be used by connecting the wire.
Features: Iām biased toward the Logitech MX Master series - I have the first gen, the 2nd gen 2nd edition, and the original 3rd gen. Why? The hyper scroll. It is hands down the feature I use the most on these mice. The newest, especially has a balanced steel wheel that spins very freely and very very quickly, with a lot of momentum and inertia, allowing you to fly through those pesky EULAs without having to drag a scroll bar forever and a day. The darkfield laser in it allows me to use it on a glass surface - also a big feature I love of them. As I am a gamer without an actual gamer mouse, though, I cannot really say what I would use in terms of features geared toward gamers, other than high polling and refresh rates, of course.
As for buttons, standard left + right, middle click being the wheel, and a few buttons by the thumb rest would be nice also. Especially a dual-button rocker for back and forward, perhaps a horizontal scroll (not really necessary, but itās nice to have) and a programmable single / dual // triple button at the bottom of the mouse rest (great for launching grenades when right click is aim, or for aiming when right click is alt weapon.
The responsiveness is going to be key - as responsive as possible. Obviously Iām tied to a brand right now, because these MX series are sooooo productive, but give me a mouse made by Eve that combines the best features of a gamer mouse with the best features of the MX and Iām sold!
Iāve mentioned most of the must have features - one more would be multiple connectivity modes, such as BT / WiFi / WIred (USB 3 / C), etc. That would help a lot. the ability to connect to more than one receiver would be nice, as I do that with my MX now - it connects to 3 diff receivers, and with the push of a button it goes from controlling my desktop to one of my two laptops to the other laptop and back to the desktop again.
LED _ I wonāt say no, but at least one of the glows has to be a really cool, bad@$$ Eve logo - in an Infinity light style would be even better!
A combo set would be kinda nice - MOAR products for us to show our Eve love!
A complete system including everything would be even nicer!
So, those are my thoughts. Iām interested to see what else everyone else comes up with.
Eve AIO desktop package sounds like quite an interesting idea. There has also been one previous unofficial thread about eve mouse ideas, even though that was quite a long ago.
My actual mouse is an ironclaw RGB wireless from Corsair and itās probably the best mouse for my use that Iāve found
but they are still few things that can be improved:
USB-C is a must, today most new peripheral use it
high polling rates are new but promising, 10K would be cool
high quality metal build like the MX master
variable resistance scroll wheel
the upper side button (not the ones near left click) is useless
optical switchs for the mains button (for low latency and reduce denounce signal)
What connector would you like your mouse to have? (Retro PS2, Typical USB-A, Modern Wireless dongle/bluetooth, or something a little uncommon when it comes to mice; like USB-C)
Personally, must be wireless and NOT Bluetooth. I know BT is better now but I donāt have a good experience with (several) BT devices.
What would you look for in a mouse?
Comfort, accuracy, reliability, responsiveness.
How many buttons should a mouse have?
Left, right, centre scroll wheel (with click, push left and push right) at a minimum. Other buttons are a bonus but not too many please - that just gets confusing.
How responsive do you like your mouse?
Errm. On what scale?!
Do you like macro features for your mouse?
Not necessary
What are must have features for your mouse?
Wireless (see above) but not BT with sufficient buttons (also, see above)
What are some cool features you would like in your mouse?
Should multiple skins be available for an Eve mouse?
Not bothered
Should it glow? (Fancy LEDs)
Not if it makes it cost more
Should the mouse squeak ? (Joke question, but I remember back several years ago having a ball mouse that literally squeaked!)
Iām agnostic on this (but if they do Iām not interested in a mechanical KB)
How awesome does a complete Eve AIO desktop package sound? (Containing: Spectrum, Mouse pad , Quantum (Mini PC) , Mouse, Keyboard , and Sound system.)

Sounds good but it wouldnāt be for me.
To anyone that owns a mouse pad. How could we improve on the design, and are there anythings you would change?
Mineās just arrived and is still in the box until I get me new glasses and can push my monitors further back!
What connector would you like your mouse to have? (Retro PS2, Typical USB-A, Modern Wireless dongle/bluetooth, or something a little uncommon when it comes to mice; like USB-C)
Wireless dongle/bluetooth or usb (either c or a)
What would you look for in a mouse?
comfort, medium size, and a nice feel
How many buttons should a mouse have?
atleast 5 (left/right click, middle click and 2 extra buttons, extra buttons reprogramable but are pre set to back and forward) i would love a dpi setting& sniper button. so perferably 7
How responsive do you like your mouse?
gamer so more responsive the better
Do you like macro features for your mouse?
they are nice but not explicitly nessasary
What are must have features for your mouse?
smooth scroll wheel and tilt scroll.
What are some cool features you would like in your mouse?
if its wireless a usb c port on the front of the mouse for charging/using in wired mode.
if there is a dongle make sure i can store the it with the mouse.
Should multiple skins be available for an Eve mouse?
sure
Should it glow? (Fancy LEDs)
it should atleast be an option, maybe 2 mice one with a simple red led eve logo that you can switch off and an rgb one, or one as an āoffice mouseā, quieter switches, 5 buttons no flashy leds (a led eve logo acting as a battery indicator would be nice) and the other more gamer focused one, 7 buttons, louder switches, dpi adjustability and sniper button (still a physical switch for lights would be nice)
Should the mouse squeak ? (Joke question, but I remember back several years ago having a ball mouse that literally squeaked!)
no
Should Eve develop a mouse, and keyboard combo? [
sounds good, perferably mechanical with linear, clicky and, tactile switches for the keyboard and doubleshot keycaps

sounds good
To anyone that owns a mouse pad. How could we improve on the design, and are there anythings you would change?
I would āsimplyā like a matching mouse and keyboard both WIRELESS, and MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL a HUGE matt for both to sit on for wireless charging!! (Including my iphone!!)
I love that idea! Could be possible for some sort of NFC/QI charging Mouse mat that charges devices. Maybe also outlined on the mat where the charging areas are located.
Matching devices are good to keep everything uniformed, and nice.
One thing to realize about NFC charging, it is (at least currently) slow, according to NFC Forum the spec calls for up wo 1000 mW (1W) of power, and according to Confirmed: Wireless charging via NFC is coming - Android Authority you can get up to 3W - thatās still rather slow, and will work for smaller devices, like maybe wireless earbuds, but not all that well for things like phones. For mice, it might work, provided that you leave it on the charge spot all the time when not in use. Also, NFC WLC uses a much smaller point of charge (area, I suppose) than Qi WLC, also shown in the second link.
But, a dedicated mousepad that can charge the device wirelessly without having to plug in the mouse still sounds like a great idea. For other stuff, unless it uses more advanced wireless charging, probably not going to really work, and with air charging around the corner, that might also become obsolete.
What do you all think about getting in on the forefront of new technology and looking into a mouse that has WLC OTA? Since the idea is so new that it is only now being brought forth in phones, this would be a perfect time to explore some cutting-edge technology for an Eve Device, no?
Please create a left handed trackball mouse and you have a market in the millions because there is not a single decent one in the world yet. BTW, very useful for right handers with RSI as well.
I would like to see something minimalist. Matte Black with glowing V in middle. 2 buttons on each side. One middle mouse button and dpi settings on the bottom.
Make the same identical mouse but in maybe two size options.
As far as feel, I like the simplistic look and feel of the Logitech Pro Wireless.
A mouse would be awesome. I would want it to either be an ergonomic mouse that is wireless or plugged in via usb c or a completely wireless mouse that can wirelessly charge.
Having already the Logitech MX Master 3, I believe it is a difficult mouse to beat.
Although Bluetooth would definitely be great to have, to avoid unnecessary dongles occupying a USB port.
Iāll keep my thoughts on this brief. The market for computer mice is already very saturated, and very specialized. I struggle to see how EVE could capitalize on this without some major investments in research and design.
For the time being, efforts should continue to be focused on improving projects already under development.
Agreed. Itās also the best of their MX series ever. I donāt know how they (Logi) are going top it, really. Unless they go with an all metal construction, that is.
That is actually a good point. But, technically speaking (and allow me to play devilās advocate for a moment), while the market is saturated, no company has done what Eve is doing - a grassroots-style campaign asking users directly what they want - taking polls, gathering data, and then sifting through it all to get a database of features that they can then start exploring with design and manufacturing teams to bring as many of those features congealed into a single product - basically, of the user, by the users, and for the users,
So, while the market may be saturated (as was / is the laptop market, as is the monitor market), it neither hurts to gather data from the users, nor to speculate about whether such a product could make it to market and be a viable economic entity in the Eve portfolio.
Iām all for a mouse but if you make it wireless it needs to have the responsiveness as good as logitechs lightspeed stuff. Otherwise go wired. Preferably type c. Definitely LEDs. Have profiles for different games.
