Compatible portable monitors

Hi

I bought an Asus MB169C+ monitor in haste and have a huge question mark over compatibility. I assumed because the Eve has USB-C that all would be happy, but I understand I need DisplayPort Alternate Mode support, and based on limited info I understand the Eve doesn’t do it.

Fortunately, the Asus screen was dead and wouldn’t even power on, so it’s going back. I also hated the stand.

I’m now thinking of this one from HP. Would this work, does anybody know? Anyone using a portable monitor?

I think the thunderbolt port (the second port) should work with usb monitors (that’s the one i use also for usbc->hdmi adapter)

Like @TheBestPessimist said, while the USB C port doesn’t support Displayport alt mode, the Thunderbolt 3 port is capable of running external displays.
